The Alberta Citizens' Assembly is an independent civic engagement platform designed to facilitate informed public debate on policy issues affecting Albertans. We are not affiliated with the City of Calgary, the Government of Alberta, or any political party.

Purpose of This Platform

This platform exists to:

• Educate residents on complex policy issues in plain language

• Provide a space for structured, respectful public debate

• Collect and publish community perspectives for use in civic advocacy

• Support informed democratic participation

What This Platform Is Not

• It is not an official government consultation

• It is not affiliated with any political party or advocacy organisation

• Participation does not constitute a formal vote or legally binding decision

• Outcomes are advisory and intended to inform advocacy and engagement with elected officials

Your Responsibilities as a Participant

Respectful Conduct

By participating you agree to:

• Engage respectfully with other participants at all times

• Focus comments and contributions on the policy issues being discussed

• Avoid personal attacks, harassment, or inflammatory language directed at other participants

• Avoid discriminatory language of any kind

Accurate Information

By participating you agree to:

• Represent your identity honestly

• Not create multiple accounts to artificially inflate votes or responses

• Not submit false or deliberately misleading information

Relevant Contributions

By participating you agree to:

• Keep contributions relevant to the specific debate, survey, or proposal you are participating in

• Not post spam, promotional content, or content unrelated to the policy issues being discussed
